Overexpression of GhMPK3 from Cotton Enhances Cold, Drought, and Salt Stress in Arabidopsis

چکیده

Cotton production is hampered by a variety of abiotic stresses that wreak havoc on the growth and development plants, resulting in significant financial losses. According to reports, cotton areas have declined around world as result ongoing stress. Therefore, plant breeding programs are concentrating stress-tolerant varieties. Mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) cascades involved growth, stress responses, hormonal signaling pathway. In this research, three (cold, drought, salt) were analyzed GhMPK3 transformed Arabidopsis plants. The transgenic plant’s gene expression morphologic analysis studied under cold, salt Physiological parameters such relative leaf water content, excised loss, chlorophyll ion leakage showed overexpressed plants possess more stable content conditions compared with WT Furthermore, had greater antioxidant activities weaker oxidant activities. Silencing inhibited its tolerance drought Our research findings strongly suggest can be regarded an essential for

Overexpression of pigeonpea stress-induced cold and drought regulatory gene (CcCDR) confers drought, salt, and cold tolerance in Arabidopsis

A potent cold and drought regulatory protein-encoding gene (CcCDR) was isolated from the subtractive cDNA library of pigeonpea plants subjected to drought stress. CcCDR was induced by different abiotic stress conditions in pigeonpea. Overexpression of CcCDR in Arabidopsis thaliana imparted enhanced tolerance against major abiotic stresses, namely drought, salinity, and low temperature, as evide...

Overexpression of AtABCG36 improves drought and salt stress resistance in Arabidopsis.

Drought and salt are major abiotic stresses that adversely affect crop productivity. Thus, identification of factors that confer resistance to these stresses would pave way to increasing agricultural productivity. When grown on soil in green house longer than 5 weeks, transgenic Arabidopsis plants that overexpress an ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporter, AtABCG36/AtPDR8, produced higher shoot...

COLD SHOCK DOMAIN PROTEIN 3 is involved in salt and drought stress tolerance in Arabidopsis☆

Cold shock proteins (CSPs) of bacteria are produced in response to cold and function as RNA chaperones that are essential for cold adaptation. Arabidopsis thaliana COLD SHOCK DOMAIN PROTEIN 3 (AtCSP3) shares a domain with bacterial CSPs and is involved in acquisition of freezing tolerance. Our previous study revealed that many of the genes that are down regulated in an AtCSP3 knockout mutant (a...

Overexpression of NaKR3 enhances salt tolerance in Arabidopsis.

Salinity is a major abiotic stress in agriculture. Here, we report that SODIUM POTASSIUM ROOT DEFECTIVE3 (NaKR3), which encodes a heavy metal-associated domain protein, is involved in salt tolerance in Arabidopsis. The results of quantitative reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction analysis revealed that NaKR3 was induced by high salinity and osmotic stresses, but not by Cu(2+) stress. ...

Overexpression of a Tartary Buckwheat Gene, FtbHLH3, Enhances Drought/Oxidative Stress Tolerance in Transgenic Arabidopsis

bHLH (basic helix-loop-helix) transcription factors play important roles in the abiotic stress response in plants, but their characteristics and functions in tartary buckwheat (Fagopyrum tataricum), a flavonoid-rich cereal crop with a strong stress tolerance, have not been fully investigated. Here, a novel bHLH gene, designated FtbHLH3, was isolated and characterized. Expression analysis in tar...
